CxC prorates charges automatically when you add or remove users mid-cycle. You only pay for the time a seat was active — not the full month.
Adding a user mid-cycle:
When you invite a new user and assign them a seat, CxC calculates the remaining days in your billing cycle and charges only for that portion. The prorated amount is added to your next invoice.
Example:
Your billing cycle runs from the 1st to the 31st. You add a Chat + Recording user ($25/month) on the 16th — halfway through the month. You'll be charged approximately $12.50 for that user on your next invoice, then the full $25 from the following cycle onward.
Removing a user mid-cycle:
When you deactivate a user, their seat remains active until the end of the current billing cycle. No credit is applied mid-cycle — the change takes effect on the next renewal date. From that point forward, the deactivated user is no longer included in your invoice.
Changing a seat type mid-cycle:
If you upgrade a user from Chat to Chat + Recording mid-cycle, the difference is prorated and added to your invoice — you're charged immediately for the upgrade. If you downgrade a user from Chat + Recording to Chat, the change takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle and you'll continue to be charged at the current rate until then.
