Channels are persistent group conversations organized around a topic, team, or purpose. Unlike job channels — which are created automatically from your CRM — standard channels are created manually and used for ongoing team communication.
Public Channels
Public channels are visible to everyone in the workspace. Any member can find and join a public channel without needing an invitation. Use public channels for company-wide communication, announcements, or topics where open visibility is useful.
Anyone can join a public channel at any time. Admins and managers can create public channels. Other users can participate but cannot create or manage channels.
Private Channels
Private channels are invite-only. They're not visible to people who haven't been added. Use private channels for sensitive discussions, role-specific conversations, or anything that shouldn't be visible to the whole workspace.
A user cannot leave a private channel if they are the last remaining admin in it. At least one admin must remain in every private channel at all times.
How to create a channel:
Click the + button next to Channels in the sidebar
Give the channel a name
Add a description (optional)
Choose visibility — Public or Private

What you can do in a channel:
Send text messages, voice messages, and files
Pin important messages for quick reference
@mention teammates to notify them directly
Edit or delete your own messages
Search message history
Archiving a channel:
When a channel is no longer active, archive it to remove it from the sidebar without deleting any history. Archived channels are hidden from the active sidebar, marked as [Archived], remain fully searchable, and become read-only. A system message is posted when a channel is archived showing who did it and when.
To archive: open the channel → 3 dots → Archive.
Deleting a channel:
Deleting a channel permanently removes all messages, files, and metadata. This cannot be undone. A system audit log entry is created capturing the deletion event, who did it, and when.
To delete: open the channel → 3 dots → Delete Channel → confirm.
